Children have always been a huge spot in my heart and the preservation of keeping children  safe from harm, fed, clothed and loved.  When I heard of Mario Batali having his own  children’s foundation I knew I had to tell all of you about it.

Over the past year or so the re-known chef, Mario Batali, launched his own Children’s  Foundation to “to feed, protect, educate, and empower children.”
In 2007, his charity raised between 1.3 and 1.5 million.  Which is a great start for a great and  wonderful cause.

This weekend, Batali will be hosting a benefit to launch the not-yet-released Pixar film Up (it  officially comes out May 29). He expects thirty to fifty percent of the guests to be kids.  Following the screening, he has invited all his guests to hang with him and eat food from

Daisy May’s BBQ and Otto, cupcakes from Kyotofu, carnival games, balloon sculptures, and raffles.

The screening will begin at 1:30 p.m. at Tribeca Cinemas (54 Varick Street; map). Purchase tickets at mariobatalifoundation.org for $150/person.
