I don’t know about you all but in this house we drink a whole lot of milk.

Did you know that 1 out of every six families in the US struggle with keeping food on the table for their families and that 1 in 5 Central Floridians struggle with hunger each day.  I know for many of us we get so per-occupied with our own lives that we forget about others who are truly struggling out there… even in our own backyard.

Food banks nationwide are trying to help.  Second Harvest Food Bank is one of these local organizations that are trying to help those families in need. Through their distribution of food in to more than 500 nonprofit partner agencies in six Central Florida counties, people who are in need of  just a little help are given food they need for themselves and their children.  Unfortunately, the one thing needed is Milk!

This year, FlBlogCon has partnered with the Florida Dairy Farmers to spread word about the Great American Milk Drive, to help raise awareness and funds for the single most requested food staple: milk.

Did you know that milk helps children grow and provides essential nutrients and vitamins needed to grow.  Children should drink around 3 glasses of milk a day, which if we do the calculation that averages around a gallon of milk a week.

If you are unable to donate,  http://milklife.com/give then we are asking for your help to spread word about the Great American Milk Drive.
