27 Feb 2009 In: HOT Tips!

When cutting a cake remember to use a hot, wet knife. Then dry it, slice it down, and repeat these steps between each slice.

This way, you won’t get little crumbs on each piece, and the servings will look very professional.

Jerk Stuffed Fish

I love fish… almost any kind there is; whether its Snapper, Tilapia, Salmon, (the list is long).  Maybe my love for fish came from my love of the ocean and feeling at home in the water.  As a child my Dad used to tell me, “I think you are part fish, Tasha!” Maybe in a past life I was. 🙂 I think it goes back to growing up in Jamaica during the summers and always going to the beach with my family and eating Fried Fish and Festival at Hellshire.  Those are some of my favorite memories.

Williams-Sonoma sells for $599.95

It is said that “once a wine bottle is opened it’s greatest enemy is oxygen.”  This was proven true by legendary French chemist Louis Pasteur, with his studies of winemaking.  The Wine Saver preservation-serving system protects the contents of opened wine bottles from oxygen for weeks at a time.

New Improved Potato Masher

24 Feb 2009 In: HOT Tips!

Has anyone ever seen a potato masher designed like an old fashion ski pole? If not then you haven’t been introduced to the Spudski, the new improved potato masher that is similar even in the smallest detail with the cross stitch detail on the back of the rubber handle.

The creators Black + Blum, claim that the mashing plate is designed to push the mashed potato “away from the stem to help it mash faster and almost clean itself.” $16 in red, green, or black at Charles & Marie.
