Green Onion Biscuits

Do you know the beauty about biscuits is that you can pretty much add whatever you want to it, inside of it, or on top of it.  The possibilities are endless and the ending results are delicious.  Especially these melt in your mouth biscuits that are combined  with a garlic and herb cheese blend (I used Boursin), green onions, Parmesan cheese, and biscuits.

They are so easy to make, in 15 minutes you can have fresh savory biscuits right out of the oven.

Hope you enjoy them as much as I did! 😉

Start by preheating your oven to 400°F.  Lightly grease a baking sheet and set aside.  Assemble your semi soft cheese, green onions (scallion), grated Parmesan cheese, and your biscuits.

This garlic and herbs cheese blend is one of my favorites.  You can not only add it to these biscuits but to baguettes, sliced breads, or even crackers.  YUMMMMM!

Slice up 2 medium green onions, (scallions).  These will be combined with cheese next.

In a small bowl, stir together the semisoft cheese and 1/4 of the chopped green onions.  Se aside the mix for now.

Unwrap the biscuits from its container.  Use your fingers to pull them apart.  Then use your fingers to gently split each one in half horizontally.

Place each biscuit bottom on the prepared baking sheet.

Spread about 1 tablespoon of cheese mixture over each biscuit bottom.

Start to replace the biscuit tops on top…

keep going…

All done.

In a small bowl crack one large egg and reserve the egg yolk.

Add one tablespoon of water to the egg yolk.  Now mix and combine the two together.

Brush biscuit tops with yolk mixture.

Then sprinkle the biscuit tops with the shredded Parmesan cheese and additional green onions.

Looks Good…. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.

Green Onion and Cheese Biscuits

1 5.2-ounce container semisoft cheese with garlic and herbs (such as Boursin Brand)

2 medium green onions, sliced (1/4 cup for mix and extra for tops)

1 12-ounce package of refrigerated biscuits, I love the flaky kind

1 egg yolk

1 tablespoon water

2 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

Preheat oven to 400°F.  Lightly grease a baking sheet and set aside.  In a small bowl stir together the semisoft cheese, and 1/4 cup of the sliced green onions.  The set the bowl aside.

Unwrap the biscuits.  Use your fingers to divide each biscuit.  The again gently divide each biscuit in half horizontally.  Place each biscuit bottom on prepared baking sheet.  Then spread about 1 tablespoon of the cheese mixture over each biscuit bottom,  I should of used a little less than a tablespoon because I thought it was a little too much.  Replace the biscuit tops.

In a small bowl, combine 1 egg yolk and water.  Bush each biscuit top with the yolk mixture.  Then sprinkle each biscuit top with Parmesan cheese and green onions.  Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.  Serve warm.

Enjoy!
