Ron and Judi Barrett’s classic children’s story Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs will become a 3-D IMAX film by Sony Pictures Animation, starring Andy Samberg and Anna Faris.

The 30-page children’s book although its thin,the animated film now features scientist, named Flint Lockwood, who instigates edible storms, turning water into food, in hopes of ending world hunger.  If any of you remember, how the book started off with Grandpa accidentally whacking his grandson with a pancake while flipping one for breakfast, then explains how normal this is in Chewandswallow.

According to a Sony Exec, “The story is about ‘food weather,’ and so food falling from the sky lends itself so well to 3-D.”
