All last week I was thinking hard about what I wanted to cook or bake to celebrate ThatsSoYummy’s 2 year Anniversary. Of all the recipes that I have shared on ThatsSoYummy I think desserts have to be my favorite. I think it has to do with my incredible sweet tooth and my love to bake. Even though there are soooooo many more recipes I have to share with you all I just knew this one was gonna be a hit, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcakes!
Now can I just say that Boy!!!!!! Were they ever…. They were so good that I ate TWO in one day. I know greedy, right… but I just couldn’t help myself. Of course now since I did I have to go cycling for an hour to counter it today but who cares. 🙂 These lil babies are sooooooo worth the workout! I had made extras that i brought them to church and in 5 minutes they were all gone.
I don’t want to ramble on how much ThatsSoYummy means to me and how it has allowed me to meet so many people and the ability to share my love for food… I just want to thank all of you who are amid lovers of ThatsSoYummy and continue to show your support and all of your comments. I cannot express how much it means to me. I hope to continue my journey of sharing my recipes and love for all things yummy, and hope to continue to learn from all of you as well.
Happy Sunday!

These cheesey pizza dough balls are great to make with kids, just add any of your favorite yummy toppings and stuff them into your pizza. The best part is no utensils are needed at all… talk about easy peasy finger food. Just grab, dunk in marinara sauce and pop in to your mouth. It’s that easy! Since we are a family that just LOVE pizza we decided to stuff them with mozzarella and pepperoni, but you can choose pretty much anything. These make for great starters to any party and a fun appetizer. All kids will love them, I know mine did!
Looking for a lazy morning weekend recipe?
I know its not the weekend you say! But we could always close our eyes and pretend it is… can’t we?
These waffles, which are filled with crunchy brown sugar bacon and buttermilk make any day feel like a lazy weekend morning. Trust me just after the smell of brown sugar coated bacon wafts your kitchen you’ll be so happy you followed my directions to make these now. Just dust off that waffle maker, which I am sure is in the wayyyyyy back of your kitchen cabinets, LOL and get it warmed up for mama.
After you’ve done that and made these insanely delicious waffles come back and tell me how in LOVE you fell with me… I’ll sit here and wait! 😉
What is it about desserts that just make my eyes roll to the back of my head and mouth water uncontrollably…
Maybe it’s the fact that I was born with an incredible sweet tooth. Yeah, I’ll go with that. 🙂 It must come in the genes, you know the ones that are bestowed upon us through birth. Did you know that when I go into a restaurant or anywhere to eat I always look at the dessert menu first. No lie, for real. If your menu has an amazing dessert I promise I will be the one to find it, taste it, judge it and rave about it… that is if its yummy enough to rave about.
I think it all boils down to being my dad’s fault. Now let me explain… You see the thing is, is that my father has a HUMONGO sweet tooth! I mean no matter what he eats, there is always room for dessert. I used to always wonder where my incessant need to finish off my meal with something sweet came from and now I know, it all stems from my daddy. 🙂
My parents were coming in town along with my sister for the weekend. You see my dad got me, my sisters and mom tickets to go and see So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD) at the Amway Arena and I knew I had to show my appreciation with a little gift, that is “sweet gift.” **wink, wink**
I thought Jamaican Bread Pudding would be a great surprise for him, especially when its soaked in rum and a smooth sweet glaze is dripping from each fork bite. t just so happened that at the same time I was thinking of a dessert for my dad, Foodbuzz had sent me a lovely coupon for a free Nature’s Pride product in exchange for making up a little ol’ recipe highlighting Nature’s Pride bread. I know, it kinda pays off being part of the Foodbuzz Tastemaker’s Program, especially when six bloggers’ recipes will be chosen to be an ambassador for Nature’s Pride at this year’s Foodbuzz Festival!
Let’s hope this recipe tickles the judges tummy! 😛
Why are s’mores such a traditional campfire treat? Why in the movies do people always say its a must to sit by the fire and roast marshmallows and layer them between chocolate and graham crackers.
I guess its just a thing, see I had never been crazy about s’mores, or maybe it was the camping part that I never got in to. Like girl scouts, I never had a yearning to be part of that… maybe thats why s’mores never made such an impression on me. However due to my lack of enthusiasm towards s’mores I thought it would be cool to try a new spin on the camping favorite… S’moredillas.
What are S’moredillas you ask, well instead of layering marshmallows between graham crackers you layer them between buttered flour tortillas, then you sprinkle them with cinnamon-sugar. Yummy isn’t it!?!
Enjoy! 🙂
Intelligent. Loving. Giving. Compassionate. Trustworthy. Passionate. Laid Back. Suave. Debonaire. Amazing.
These are just a few words that I think of when I think of my father. You see I am the oldest of four, was the one and only for five years. To say the least my father means the world to me and so many others. He really is the center of my mother and my siblings world, without him we would all be lost.
This past weekend I surprised my father along with my siblings, mother, and family members in Miami to celebrate my father’s 50th Birthday. The weekend was incredible. At first my children and I had to hide ourselves from seeing him at the hotel so we ducked and hid which was quite funny. Up to the very end my dad still had no idea what was happening right underneath his nose— and trust me if you knew my father you would know that was not an easy task. But it all went smoothly and the night was a hit!
I know that this is something different on ThatsSoYummy but I wanted to share my wonderful weekend I had. I found this poem online and instantly it touched my heart. For all the daughters out there who love their fathers this is for you!
“A Daughter’s Love”
She sleeps, peacefully,
With her tiny hand wrapped around your finger
While you cradle her in your arms,
Protecting her from all harm
At the same time,
She is winning your heart with all of her charms
Soon
She will be learning to walk
Saying anything and everything in her talk
Getting into all kinds of mischief
Yet learning and laughing all the same time with little fault
In your eyes
Then
School will begin
She wants you to walk her in
With eyes that are teary
She is filled with worry
You are there to wipe her tears away
But you would rather take her and runaway,
Having fun for the day
You close your eyes
And that little girl is now your teenager
Who wants to say hello and good-bye
At the same time
Yet, she wants your love all of the time
Now,
Your little girl, your teenager, is graduating
She is dressed in a white cap and gown
With her eyes are sparkling
The memories of your life together fly across your mind
And you wonder where the time has gone
Suddenly, you notice that she is next in line
To receive her diploma with turn of her tassel
After the ceremony is done, she touches your arm
And with a glowing smile she says:
“I love you,
And thank you”
At that very moment, you realize
how special she really is
Then right before your eyes
This young woman becomes your baby again
The baby that you cradled, taught and loved
And there is nothing you hold more dear to your heart
than her love
For a daughter’s love is a priceless gift from heaven above

When I say Sour Cream Coffee Cake does your nose scrunch up at the thought of baking with sour cream? Mine used to, I would always ask am I going to actually taste the sour cream… and of course I NEVER did. Sour cream actually really helps the cake to stay moist, which in my opinion is exactly what you want when baking cakes. Trust me this cake is definitely a winner, so much so that when I brought it down to Miami to visit my family they attacked it and finished the ENTIRE cake the same night… bunch of scavengers! 😀
I hope you enjoy it as much as they did!
