Donut holes are the perfect bite size treat that I can just pop in my mouth. I mean who doesn’t love donut holes!?!
The bad thing though is that because they are so small I find myself making up excuses as to why I can eat so many of them…
“Their so small another one won’t kill me!”
Does any of that sound familiar… 🙂
These cakey donut holes have the consistency of cake, hence the name and then they topped off with a sweet confection sugar glaze. I think the glaze has got to be one of my favorite things… just be aware, fingers will be licked!
Now don’t get me wrong I am still a lover of soft pillowy donuts that melt in your mouth, but these cakey donut were tasty to try out and the kids loved them… but I’m starting to think these kids will eat anything that’s sweet.
Have you tried cakey donut holes????
Simple process of making cakey donut holes…
Make the dough by combining all of your dry ingredients together in a mixing bowl. In another bowl combine your wet ingredients. Next add your wet ingredients to your dry and mix well. Easy… Right…
Fry the batter in a large deep skillet or deep fryer filled with hot oil, 375 degrees, in batches. You don’t want to overcrowd your pan or the dough will not cook evenly or throughout. Cook until the dough is lightly browned, around 1-2 minutes, per side.
Drain donut holes on paper, towel. While donut holes are draining make glaze. Dip each donut hole in glaze and then set on a wire rack to cool.
Yum!

We’ve gotten into the habit of hitting up the local coffee shop for breakfasts on the weekends lately and it’s getting soooo costly. So excited you shared this so I can save a few bucks and have something BETTER than what they’ve got to offer!

These look so good. My kids would love them. I make donut holes, but I’m too much of a wimp to try frying them, I bake mine, but theyre just not the same as a good ole fried donut

Holy mother of donuts – These are dangerous! I could easily pop a dozen donut holes in my mouth. Honestly, I could fit at least 3 at once! And I would try, too…
