So my girlfriend, Jennifer and I went to this authentic mexican restaurant, Pure, located here in Alpharetta, GA. She kept raving about this drink called “The Prickly Pear Margarita.” She kept saying that you will never find another margarita like this one… so I just had to go with her and check it out for myself.
**( It’s Jennifer’s Birthday and we are going to eat at Panita Thai Kitchen… so check back on its review)**
Let me just tell you that when i tried it iwas like “WHOA!” Not only is this drink sweet and delicious but it definitely has a kick, in a good way 🙂
So here is my cocktail for the end of the week… Try it it’s Delicious!!!!
Prickly Pear Margarita
1/2 cup crushed ice
1 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice
1 ounce undiluted frozen limeade
2 ounces Tequila
1 1/2 ounces Triple Sec
1 ounce prickly pear cactus juice
1 tablespoon sugar or corn syrup
Lime wedges for garnish
In a blender, add crushed ice, lime juice, Tequila, Triple Sec, prickly pear juice, and surgar or corn syrup; cover and mix ingredients (a pulsating action with 4 or 5 jolts of the blender works the best). At this point, a taste test WILL be required (while it’s not necessary, it is a requirement – you’ll thank me later). Add additional sugar or corn syrup if it is too tart. Pour into salt-rimmed margarita glasses, garnish with lime wedges, and serve immediately.
****To create a salt-rimmed glass, take a lemon or lime wedge and rub
the drinking surface of the glass so it is barely moist.
Dip the edge of the glass into coarse or Kosher salt.
