One thing I would always recommend to anyone who wants to make rice is to always wash it before cooking it. This will get rid of the starchiness, which will in turn have the rice become fluffy and non-sticky.
Ingredients:
1 cup of uncooked long grain white rice
1 and 1/2 cups of water
1 teaspoon of vegetable oil
Place rice in a large bowl. Rinse with water 3 or 4 times or until water is no longer cloudy. Drain.
Bring rice, 1 1/2 cups of water, and oil to a boil in a heavy saucepan. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes or until done. Remove from heat, and let stand 10 minutes. Fluff with a fork.
