I found this recipe on a fellow blogger’s site, Real Mom Kitchen, and thought it would be yummy. It was a hit with my kids and family members who came over to visit this past weekend. Hope you all enjoy!
These are very sweet and is similar to a sugar cookie, just a very BIG sugar cookie 🙂
The ingredients needed: 4 large eggs, unsalted butter, all-purpoes flour, granulated sugar, salt, baking soda, and vanilla extract.
Cream the 2 sticks of butter and sugar until fluffy.
Add the large eggs, one at a time, mixing after each egg.
Add 2 teaspoons of vanilla & mix well.
In a separate bowl combine all the dry ingredients; 5 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda. Stir all of these with a whisk to combine.
Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix just until combined. Spread on a greased baking sheet (use a 13 x 18 pan). Bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 min, until light golden brown or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting.
While the cookie is baking prepare to make the frosting.
You will need: butter, shortening, powdered sugar, milk, salt, vanilla extract, and sprinkles (color of your choice).
Combine butter and shortening until smooth and creamy. Add vanilla and salt. Add powdered sugar in 1-2 cup increments until combined, then add milk & mix until smooth and spreading consistency.
Spread over cooled cookie.
YUMMY!!!!
ENJOY!
